Dear Hawks,
This letter is to inform you that two individuals associated with Hermon High School have tested positive for COVID-19 and another is presumed to be positive.
Fortunately, these occurred during the Thanksgiving break and those individuals have not attended school since that time. There are no close contacts directly associated with the school and we welcome these three back to school after they have followed all CDC guidelines.
We will continue to keep you aware of any COVID related situations.
People should stay home when they are sick. COVID-19 is a respiratory illness that ranges from mild to severe. It can be more severe in adults 60 years and older and in those with underlying conditions. The virus mainly spreads when an infected person coughs or sneezes and an uninfected person breathes in the virus. Signs and symptoms include the following:
• fever or chills
• cough
• shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• fatigue
• muscle or body aches
• headache
• new loss of taste or smell
• sore throat
• congestion or runny nose
• nausea or vomiting or diarrhea
Please keep in mind that many things can cause respiratory illness, so students and staff should be up-to-date on influenza and routine vaccinations.
Have a great weekend and get out your snow shovels. Have your teenager shovel out a senior citizen!!!
