  • Engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Differentiate instruction in order to reach all learners.

  • Provide extra assistance to students who need additional instruction.
  • Assist in supervision of students and student activities outside the academic classroom as assigned.
  • Provide students with course expectations at the beginning of the year.

Tutor / Interventionist - Hermon High School

Hermon High School is seeking a full-time tutor/interventionist to work in person, at the school, with students either individually, in small groups, and/or remotely.We are looking for someone who is flexible and willing to support our students in a variety of content areas.The successful candidate must be willing to work cooperatively with classroom teacher(s) and support staff.A four-year college degree & current CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) required - teaching certification preferred. This position will end on the last day of school in June.

English Teacher Position – Long Term Sub - Hermon High School

To start ASAP through April 2, 2021

Teaching assignments may include ninth through twelfth grade courses. Advanced Placement and Early College experience a plus.

The successful candidate will join a department of six collaborative educators who demonstrate positive, professional, and productive relationships with their students, colleagues, and greater school community.A strong understanding of proficiency referenced planning, the ability to differentiate instruction and provide meaningful and timely formative feedback is a plus.

Maine Department of Education 100 English/Language Arts (7-12) endorsement and Maine Criminal History Records Check required.

The HSD will support the selected applicant with securing the bus driver’s license if needed.

Food Services Substitutes

The Hermon School Department is seeking Food Services Substitutes for the 2019-2020 school year who can work positively with staff, and students. Candidates should possess basic math skills, be able to lift up to 20 pounds, and stand on feet during the shift.
Candidates must hold current CHRC authorization through State of Maine Department of Education.
This is a substitute position and does not provide benefits.

The Hermon School Department is seeking substitute teachers for the 2020-2021 school year who have the ability to work positively with staff, and students. Candidates should possess strong oral and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, and be dedicated to meeting the academic and social needs of each child.
Candidates must hold current CHRC authorization through State of Maine Department of Education.
This is a substitute position and does not provide benefits.
